1. Reformation and Debrecen
16th century Reformation has highly affected everyday life all over Europe. During the workshop we explore the origins of the movement and circumstances that favoured its spreading. What was Luther's initial scope, and what did he achieve? Which branches of Reformation can we identify? Who were the first Hungarian reformers, and what influence did they have on our culture, and notably our language? Which city is called the Calvinist Rome – we try to examine Debrecen's central role in the Hungarian Reformation. Works of art and of everyday use on display are also pointed out in the museum. Age: 11+ Duration: 60-90 minutes The activity is led by Teofil Kovács PhD, firstname.lastname@example.org, Tel.: +36-52-614-389
